Approved. The batching is right and the test would have caught the old behaviour. One note inline about the 40ms constant: it wants a comment, not a change.
Opened pull request #42, reduce layout shift in profile cards. The avatar was loading without dimensions, which is the whole bug.
test_queue_drain fails about 1 in 40 runs on main. Bisected to the timer change. Not fixing it. That is a design decision, not a bug. Issue open with the repro script.

Week 3 of the onboarding test reached significance and I am recommending we do not ship it. The lift is real and it comes entirely from the cohort we were trying to stop over-serving.
