Linear Search Student Database App

Hello there, this is my project surfacing around Linear Search, and how it can be used in everyday life. This application example is of a database app for students enrolled in a school.

The following video provided here shows how the functionality/demo of the project, please take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c63lzvZBwbk

PROBLEM BREAKDOWN

Decomposition: Breaking the problem down into what needs to be accomplished. A database of students where information can be easily retrieved. I needed to make a button to clear the database, to add a student, and to also do its main functionality of inputting a Student ID that correspond with the name of that student.

Pattern Recognition: I was able to immediately pick up that what I wanted to do for searching was a classic example of linear search. I also knew that there would be a consistent pattern of looking for attributes/properties in a Student object, as well as using several unique functions for each button, as most applications do.

Abstraction: I also knew that using an algorithm like binary search here would be irrelevant, as I would need to sort the values, which is not something relevant in this application. It would only be relevant if there was an option to return each name in Alphabetical order, which then it would be wise to use binary search due to its more efficient complexity.

Algorithmic Design: As mentioned before briefly, the algorithm mainly works by requiring a Student object in the total_students list. After that, it would take the input of an assortment of a string of integers, and then take it as an argument, which would then iterate through every Student object in the list. It eventually will or will not meet the condition that the student number argument is equal to the student number attribute of some student in the list. If so, return that student.
